[ The reservation specified for the D.T.(A), N.T.(B), N.T.(C) & N.T.(D) shall be intertransferable. If suitable candidates for

the posts reserved for D.T.(A), N.T.(B), N.T.(C) & N.T.(D) are not available, the posts shall be filled by suitable

candidates from any of the other categories amongst D.T.(A), N.T.(B), N.T.(C) & N.T.(D) as per Govt. orders/Act.]

2. Reservation for Physically challenged persons:-

2.1 As per G. R., Industry, Energy & Labour Department No. –KaAaAa 4404/C.R.955/Kamgar-8, dated 24th December, 2004

amongst Physically Challenged candidates Only Partially Sighted, Partially Deaf and Locomotor Disability (Only

One leg affected & One arm affected) candidates are eligible for this post. But as per G.R.,Social Justice &

Special Assistance Department No. Nyaypra 2006/C.R.9/Part-1/Sudhar-3, dated 13th August, 2009 instead of

“Partially Sighted”, “Blind / Low Vision” has been notified and candidates only who submit the certificate

mentioning clearly such type of disability will only be considered for the post.

2.2 The reservation for Physically Challenged persons is as per Government Circular, Social Justice and Special

Assistance Dept. No. Apang-2007/C.R.61/ Sudhar-3, dated 20th April, 2007.

3. PAY :

3.1 Rs. 9300-34800+Grade Pay Rs.4400/- plus other admissible allowances as per prevalent rules.[Total Emolument


4. AGE :

4.1 Not more than 33 years as on 1st July, 2010. (Relaxable as per rules.)

4.2 The upper age limit shall not apply to the employee of Government of Maharashtra.

4.3 Age limit will be relaxed by Government on recommendation of the Commission in favour of candidates having exceptional


5. QUALIFICATION : Candidates must possess -

5.1 A post-graduate degree or a tow year’s post-graduate diploma in Labour Welfare, Industrial Relations and

Personnel Management declared by Governement to be equivalent thereto OR

5.2 A degree at least in second class in Arts, Science, Commerce, Economics, Law, Agriculture, Statistics or

Mathematics with Statistics as a subject or in Social Science or Social Work recognised for the purpose of

Maharashtra Welfare Officers (Duties Qualifications and Condidtions of Services) Rules,1966 AND

5.3 Have adequate Knowledge of Marathi.

5.4 If at any stage of selection, the Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates possessing the

requisite higher basic academic qualification are not available to filling the vacancies reserved for the candidate

belonging to Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Castes converted to Buddhism & Scheduled Tribes, Denotified

Tribes or Nomadic Tribes, then the Commission may, in the matter of such selection, relax the requirement in

respect of the class in the degree, diploma or other examinations as set out therein & select suitable candidates

belonging to such Castes & Tribe.

6. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : Details regarding duties and responsibilities of the post are available on website of the

Maharashtra Public Service Commission.


7.1 Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years.

7.2 There are prospects of promotion to the higher post of Deputy Director of Industries (Technical) in the grade of

8000-275-13500 depending on seniority and merit.

8. NOTE :

8.1 The column No. 6.2 of the old application regarding ‘Do your claim reservation’ OR column No. 5.1 of the new

application regarding ‘Do you claim benefits of reservation such as Fee, Age and the post reserved for Backward

Categories’ shall stand deleted. However, the backward class candidates and general Female candidates

belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer section will have to claim regarding NCL. In these circumstances, both the

applications, old as well as new, submitted by the candidate, will be accepted by the Commission.

8.2 In addition the candidates should attach separate sheet of proforma-A for details of qualification, along with

application form, as per coloum no. 21 in new application form or 32.1 in old application form, failing which, it will

be treated as incomplete and will be rejected. Specimen of proforma-A is avaible along with the said advertisement on

the web site of Commission.

8.3 The Commission at its discretion, may shortlist the applications for interview, based on reasonable criteria i.e.

experience and/or higher qualification, etc. OR may conduct Written objective type Screening Test (multiple

choice question) to shortlist candidates for interview. The syllabus and medium of question paper and other

details for the test shall be displayed on the Commission’s web site.

8.4 Copies of certificates should not be attached along with the Application Form. However, candidates are required to

furnish an affidavit on a stamp paper of Rs.100/-, affirmed before a Notary in respect of correctness and authenticity of

the information mentioned in the Application Form. Specimen of affidavit is published on the website in the “Specimen

form of Affidavit for Direct Recruitment Posts” Section.

8.5 The Application Form should be accompanied by an affidavit, failing which it will be treated as incomplete & will be rejected.

8.6 The candidate should submit all the certificates at the time of interview as per instruction given in Chapter-4 of the

Prospectus provided along with the application form.

10. FEE :-

10.1 For Open category candidates - Rs.250/-

10.2 For Backward Class candidates - Rs.125/-

10.3 The fee should be paid in the Post Office by cash along with Application.


11.1 The duly filled up Application Form along with required fee will be accepted only at any of the designated Post

Offices mentioned in the prospectus in their working hours on or before 17th April, 2010.

11.2 Application Form will not be accepted in the Office of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission under any

circumstances or no enquiry in that behalf will be entertained.
